Press Release: Lazer Star introduces new LED light bar series

Lazer Star introduces new LED light bar series
Off-road vehicle lighting showcases latest in LED Technology

February 10, 2012 (Paso Robles, CALIF)  - – -

Lazer Star has released a new series of LED light bars for off-road vehicles. Outfitted with the newest Cree LED technology, each light bar in the LX LED series is IP68 rated – meaning that they are completely dust-tight and watertight – as well as 8.6g shock-resistant. Each light has a polycarbonate lens, slide track mount, and DC 9-32V input. The LED light bars are low-draw with no hot spots.

“We stay on top of the market and we are offering the latest and greatest in LED technology with this new product line,” Ryan Paine, Vice President of Business Development said. “We manufacture our lights to operate at the best possible rate to maximize the ratio between low draw and high output. ”

Lazer Star offers a range of light bars to suit a variety of needs, from the everyday driver, to the off-road enthusiast, to the racer. The three bars in the LX LED Light Bar Series are named as a tribute to the U.S. space shuttle program:

  • Atlantis: a single row of 3-watt lighting in a compact 1-3/4” profile. The light offers 300 lumens per LED, and lengths range from 6” – 42”. The Atlantis bars are ideal for ATVs, full-time street, and recreational vehicles.
  • Discovery: a single or double row of 10-watt lighting, the Discovery produces 1,000 lumens per LED. Lengths are available from 6”-50”. The Discovery is ideal for racing vehicles and serious off-roaders.
  • Endeavor: a 3-watt, double-row light bar with a compact 2-3/4” profile. The Endeavor produces 300 Lumens per LED, and lengths range from 4”-42”. The Endeavor 2×2 is ideal for on-road driving for trucks and motorcycles.

The LX LED light bar series are used for racing, motorcycles, Jeeps, trucks, SUVs, ATVs, side-by-sides, and quads. They come in a variety of lengths, sizes, and wattages to meet all off-and-on-road needs.

“What makes us stand out is we offer a full line of LED products – not just one or two LED options,” said Paine. The Lazer Star LX LED light series was designed in Paso Robles, California. Each light bar is protected by extruded aluminum housing, which dissipates heat, and a shatterproof polycarbonate lens.

While Lazer Star’s main market is off-road and racing enthusiasts, what originally put them on the map when they started in 1992 was the safety that their lighting products provide. Its products provide so much light that they make night driving significantly safer.

Lazer Star was founded in 1992 and is a family-owned and operated company. It started out to support the Scott’s family hobby, riding sand dunes. Vice President Ron Scott launched his father Pat’s idea with little more than a magazine ad and a desk in the corner: the 50-watt bullet-style light was the first product made, and the line naturally evolved from there to include over 300 variations.

In 2003, Lazer Star broke off from the parent company. As of June of 2008 the company has been located in Paso Robles, Calif., a place where the family had vacationed for 40 years. Since then, they have continued to grow and have expanded their product line. The newest expansion is with the LED light bar line, which showcases the latest in lighting technology. They have also expanded their staff and in January 2012, teamed up with R&R Marketing Consultants, Inc. Lazer Star is looking forward to an exciting and prosperous year with this new team of established salespeople.

Test Drives and Meetings

As we mentioned in our last post, at the end of last week we met with our new sales team, the crew at R&R Marketing Consultants. They came from the midwest, the western states, and Canada to visit our Paso Robles, CA headquarters and learn about all that Lazer Star has to offer.

“It was a very successful couple of days. We received lots of feedback from the R&R team,” said Ryan Paine, VP of Business Development. “They brought up new product suggestions that we are very excited and eager to work on.”

The R&R team arrived on Thursday evening, and we treated them to a light demo show. We took them out in a number of our vehicles and they explored the back roads of Paso Robles at night. ”They were blown away by the amount of light output coming from our products,” said Ryan.

Some of the vehicles R&R got to drive:

Our Rhino is fitted with our 40-inch Discovery LX LED light bar,
as well as two 2×2 Endeavor spot beams.

Our purple golf cart is outfitted with a 33-inch Atlantis Light Bar and our LED turn signals

Our SUV (a GMC Envoy) is outfitted with a 20-inch Discovery LX LED Light Bar

Party Bus Makeover

Crown Limousine, located in Paso Robles, CA, recently gave one of their party busses a makeover using Lazer Star blue Flex LED lights. Commonly used as dome lights, taillights, accent lights for engines, chrome, and under-car lighting, our Flex Lights provided the perfect mood lighting for a party bus.

Our Flex lights are super easy to customize and install. They come in red, amber, blue, and white; and are available in any length from 1-inch to 40-inches. They attach to the surface with clear 3M adhesive tubing.

“They were so easy to install, I actually had a fun time doing it,” said Crown Limousine owner Brent Keller, “Actually, I kind of want to do my RV next…”

Check out what a difference our lights made!

Lazer Star outfits Mike Duval’s Jeep

On the Outdoor Channel’s hit show Off-Road Overhaul, host Mike Duval and his team take a deserving outdoor enthusiast’s 4×4 truck or Jeep into their workshop for a high-performance, off-road makeover. After the lucky driver is surprised with a new ride, the owner gets to go on a surprise adventure with the Overhall crew in the newly improved vehicle.

Mike recently used Lazer Star to help give his own Jeep a makeover! A mutual friend, Kenny Jackson at Off-Road Unlimited in Burbank, showed Mike our lights, and Mike loved what he saw. Kenny introduced us in person and we were on our way!

Here’s what we installed:

The Jeep was first debuted at the Pomona Off Road Expo in October and officially presented the following month in the Mickey Thompson SEMA booth. It is used full time on Off-Road Overhaul for location shots, so we have been getting a lot of TV time!

This was a great opportunity for us to help take Mike’s Jeep beyond expectations. Mike has been incredibly impressed with how the lights are in action!

34” Atlantis on a Polaris Ranger RZR

We recently did a fitment test with our Atlantis 34” 3-watt single row light bar on a Polaris RZR, and wow, it is looking GOOD! The Polaris RZR is used for recreation in the desert and woods, and is a popular vehicle for both racing and hunting.
